Recruit4staff are proud to be representing their client, a leading manufacturing business in their search for a Maintenance Engineer to work in their leading facility in Much Wenlock.

For the successful Maintenance Engineer our client is offering:

  • Starting salary on offer is up to £35,000 depending on experience
  • Monday to Friday 8am-5pm
  • Permanent position

  • This is a great opportunity for somebody who has a few years Engineering experience and is looking to further develop there skills

The role – Maintenance Engineer:

  • Investigate all equipment failures, recommend and implement improvements 
  • Participate in regular reviews with the Engineering & Manufacturing team
  • Carrying out Plant/Equipment installation in line with Planned Preventative Maintenance
  • Providing minimal downtime to Production
  • Working very closely with the Engineering Team Leader
  • Installing & setting up new areas within Production as required
  • Attending Maintenance meetings
  • Focusing on Continuous Improvement
  • Maintaining a high level of Health & Safety
  • Working in team situations to resolve any issues
  • Carrying out Mechanical & Electrical tasks

What our client is looking for in a Maintenance Engineer:

  • Previous experience within a similar role - ESSENTIAL
  • Ideally you will hold one of the following in Engineering Level 2 or Level 3 or 17th/18th edition
  • Happy to work indoors / outdoors - The client has outbuildings where Maintenance work will be required
  • Experienced in Planned Preventative Maintenance
  • PLC experience - PREFERRED
  • Our client is looking for candidates who are Multi Skilled, ideally (60/40) Mechanical/Electrical

The Role - Maintenance Engineer

  • To diagnose faults and to test, repair and maintain Mechanical /Electrical equipment
  • Carry out autonomous breakdown tasks and preventative maintenance tasks competently and correctly, recording work carried out in appropriate documentation / data base (CMMS).
  • To interpret and implement technical service instruction data relating to machinery and equipment.
  • Use and support simple 5WHY OE techniques / RCA techniques through to 100 year fix.
  • Reduce production waste.
  • Any other duties as per business needs 
What our client is looking for in a Maintenance Engineer
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a maintenance environment - ESSENTIAL
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or ONC / HNC Or equivalent in either Mechanical or electrical disciplines or Degree trained- ESSENTIAL
  • Experience using CMMS systems - ESSENTIAL 
  • Previous experience within the food manufacturing or food packaging industry - ESSENTIAL
  • Due to the location of the site you MUST have your own transport.

£5,000 signing-on bonus after successful completion of a probationary period (subject to T&Cs) 


For the successful Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, our client is offering:

  • £54,000 per annum 
  • 7:00 - 7:00, 4 on 4 off (days and nights) 
  • Permanent position
  • £5,000 signing-on bonus (Payable after passing probation) 
  • Annual 5% bonus

The Role - Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer:

  • Contact OEM's and other suppliers for technical support as and when required and expedite parts when not available on-site
