Recruit4staff are representing a well-established precision engineering company in their search for a CNC Turner Programmer/Setter to work in Crewe.

Job Role: Programming, setting and operating CNC Turning machines using FANUC controls, working from engineering drawings to produce bespoke one-off and small batch components. The role involves machining a variety of materials, including ferrous, non-ferrous, stainless steel, plastics, and composites, to tight tolerances. You will be responsible for producing first-off samples for inspection and ensuring accuracy throughout the machining process.

Job Details:

  • Pay: Up to £18 per hour (£38,000 per annum)
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30 (40 hours per week)
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Benefits:
    • Pay review after 3 months
    • Overtime available at enhanced rates (x1.5)
    • 26 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing to 31 with service)

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Programming CNC Turning  machines
  • Setting and operating CNC Turning machines
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience using FANUC controls
  • Experience in a contract machine shop

Essential Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Desired Qualifications:

  • CNC Programming qualifications
  • CAD/CAM qualifications

Job Role: As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for completing service and maintenance on factory machinery including injection moulding machines. Duties include planned maintenance checks (daily, weekly, quarterly), fault finding and breakdown repair, and working across pneumatic, hydraulic, motorised, and robotic systems. You will also be expected to cover out-of-hours call outs as part of the shift pattern.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer / Technician
  • Excellent track record of troubleshooting and breakdown repair
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining Injection Moulding Equipment (as a Toolmaker or a Maintenance Technician)
  • Qualifications related to Hydraulic & Pneumatic Engineering
  • Qualifications related to Robotics Engineering/Repair
  • IPAF
  • PASMA
  • Working at Heights
  • FLT Licence
  • Overhead Crane Licence

There may be a requirement for this role to switch to shift work in the future:

  • Hours of Work: Rotating shift pattern: 6am - 2pm | 2pm - 10pm | 10pm - 6am
    • Week 1: Morning Shift
    • Week 2: Morning Shift
    • Week 3: Night Shift
    • Week 4: Afternoon Shift + Weekend on call
