Job Details:

  • Pay: Up to £50,000 per annum
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Duration: Permanent

Job Role: As a Site Engineer, you will be based from Ellesmere Port and travel regularly to customer sites across the UK to complete detailed site surveys following initial work by the Sales team. You will gather technical information, assess site conditions and produce layouts drawings using AutoCAD or similar CAD software. The Site Engineer will work closely with Sales, Operations, clients, contractors and suppliers to develop practical engineering solutions and support projects through to installation. This will include providing on-site engineering supervision and coordinating activities such as the installation works, crane lifts onto prepared foundations, overseeing health & safety and managing RAMS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits to assess client requirements and gather technical information relating to site conditions, dimensions, access and installation constraints.
  • Identify potential risks, challenges and opportunities during site inspections.
  • Produce site survey reports, drawings, photographs, sketches and technical recommendations.
  • Liaise directly with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical guidance.
  • Develop detailed technical drawings, layouts and engineering solutions using CAD software.
  • Update drawings and technical documentation following design changes and client feedback.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and delivered in accordance with project requirements.
  • Provide technical support to the Sales team during customer meetings when required.
  • Assist with quotations by providing technical input, equipment selections and solution recommendations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to source suitable products and technical information.
  • Support project delivery through technical problem-solving, design revisions and on-site engineering assistance.
  • Ensure engineering work complies with relevant standards, regulations and company quality procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate project logistics, including material deliveries, equipment, transport and site access requirements.
  • Coordinate installation schedules with Operations, subcontractors and clients.
  • Ensure project documentation, permits and relevant site information are available before installation commences.
  • Assist at the depot with production and manufacturing issues, improvements, technical information and drawings.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Proven experience completing site surveys within construction or civil engineering environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of site health and safety and RAMS, with experience managing contractors.
  • Previous experience within a client-facing engineering, project engineering or solutions engineering role.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit or similar.
  • Strong technical drawing and engineering design skills.
  • Qualification in Architectural Technology, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Full driving licence.
  • The successful Site Engineer must be comfortable travelling regularly to customer sites throughout the UK.

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • Experience supporting technical sales or business development teams.
  • Project management experience or exposure.
  • Experience working on engineering projects.
  • Site safety qualifications such as SSSTS, SMSTS, CSCS White Card or CSCS Black Card.
  • Previous experience supporting projects from initial Site Engineer surveys through to installation would be advantageous.
Additional Information
  • The role is based from Ellesmere Port and involves regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK.
  • There may also be a requirement to travel to the company's head office in Ireland.
  • The Site Engineer will provide both office-based technical support and practical on-site project assistance.
  • The position involves working with multiple internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
