Recruit4staff are representing a well-established engineering business in their search for a Mechanical Fitter to work in Flint

Job Details:

  • Pay: £18.00 per hour
  • Hours of Work: Mon - Fri 08:00 - 16:30
  • Duration: Temporary (Ongoing)
  • Benefits: Opportunity for ongoing work with an established engineering contractor

Job Role: The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for carrying out installation and fitting duties on-site, including the installation of pipework using flanged connections, bolts, and gaskets. The Mechanical Fitter will also install bracketry, Unistrut systems, and simple steelwork brackets using various bolting methods. Working from layout drawings, the Mechanical Fitter will ensure equipment is set accurately to centre lines while using a range of specialist tools and equipment.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Fitting or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter
  • Experience with pipefitting using flanges, bolts, and gaskets
  • Good knowledge of mag drills, SDS drills, lasers, and hand tools
  • Ability to read and work from simple layout drawings
  • Basic welding knowledge for simple bracket fabrication

  • Pay: Up to £36,420 per annum (Depending on experience)

  • Proven record in Mechanical Fitting covering maintenance and assembly
  • Experience stripping, overhauling, and assembling specialist equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of how to work through mechanical problems with the design team
  • Experience within new build and/or repair and maintenance environments
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
  • Time served / Apprentice Trained Mechanical Fitter or NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Qualification

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • Experience working in the marine engineering or shipbuilding sector
  • Experience working on small or large marine craft
  • Knowledge of marine engines and propulsion systems
