Recruit4staff are representing a leading engineering and engineering business in their search for a Pipe Welder to work in Deeside

Job Details:

  • Pay: £48,438 per annum (equivalent to £24.84 per hour)
  • Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Thursday 07:00–15:30, Friday 07:00–12:30
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Benefits: Uncapped bonus scheme
Job Role: As a Pipe Welder, you will work within a specialist fabrication facility in Deeside, carrying out high-quality welding on stainless and carbon steel pipework. The Pipe Welder will work to the standards required within a highly regulated engineering environment, producing accurate and reliable welded pipework.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • The Pipe Welder must have previous experience working within Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Food Manufacturing or another highly regulated engineering environment.
  • Experience working on pipe ranging from 0.5" - 6" 
  • Must hold a recognised apprenticeship within welding & fabrication or Pipe Welding.

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • CCNSG / Safety Passport would be advantageous.

Commutable From: Chester, Deeside, Wrexham, Flint, Ellesmere Port, Wirral and Birkenhead.

Job Role: Working as a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for the installation of stainless and carbon steel pipework and associated supports. The role will involve working on various customer sites across the UK, delivering site-based pipework installations as part of industrial, process, commercial or construction projects. The Pipefitter will be required to work safely and effectively within site requirements while completing installations to the required standards.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Proven site-based experience working as a Pipefitter within industrial, process, commercial or construction projects
  • Valid CSCS Blue Card or CCNSG Card
  • Valid PASMA card for mobile access towers
  • Time-served or formally trained Pipefitter, holding a Level 3 qualification in pipefitting, mechanical installation or a closely related discipline, such as City & Guilds, NVQ or another relevant qualification

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • Slinger/Signaller (CPCS) qualification
  • Appointed Person or Lift Supervisor qualification (CPCS or NPORS)
  • IPAF 3a and 3b
  • Previous experience supporting Pipefitter installation work across multiple customer sites would be advantageous

Job Role: As a Fabricator Welder, you will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of structural steelwork, pipework and metal assemblies from engineering drawings. The role involves completing projects through the full fabrication and welding process, using MIG/MAG and TIG welding techniques, including TIG root runs on pipework with purge control. The Fabricator Welder will work independently from engineering drawings to produce structural, plate and pipework assemblies to the required standards.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Apprentice-trained Fabricator Welder with proven post-apprenticeship experience in a fabrication workshop environment
  • Experience working from engineering drawings on structural, plate and pipework assemblies
  • Competent in MIG/MAG and TIG welding
  • Experience completing TIG root runs on pipework with purge control
  • Able to weld pipework in the 5G/6G positions
  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship
  • Level 3 qualification in Welding & Fabrication, such as City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent

  • Previous or current welding codings relevant to a Fabricator Welder position
