Recruit4staff are representing a well-established sheet metal manufacturing business in their search for a CAD Technician to work in Widnes.

Job Details:

Pay: Circa £32,000 per annum
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7:30am 4:30pm, Friday half day
Duration: Permanent

Job Role: As a CAD Technician, you will produce accurate technical drawings from customer orders to support the production team within a busy sheet metal manufacturing environment. The CAD Technician will re-qualify customer orders, create 2D and 3D drawings using RADAN software for customer authorisation, and deliver CAM files to the production department. This CAD Technician position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings to customer specifications.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

Previous fabrication experience
Previous experience of working with sheet metal
Engineering qualifications Level 2 or higher in Welding / Fabrication/engineering operations/metal working or similar
Good mathematical skills
Experience of reading technical drawings and understanding how to produce them as a minimum
Some exposure to CAD packages
Customer communication and order re-qualification experience

Experience modelling steel components, structural steelwork, building structures and beams
Ability to interpret technical drawings and produce accurate fabrication documentation

Advantageous Experience or Qualifications:

Level 3 Diploma or Certificate in Engineering Design
BTEC Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline
HNC/HND in a related engineering discipline
Previous experience as a CAD Technician within a steel fabrication or structural engineering environment
