Recruit4staff are representing a well-established engineering company in their search for a Fabricator Welder to work in Skelmersdale.

Job Role: Fabricator Welders are responsible for fabricating a range of steel products in a workshop setting. This includes working from engineering drawings, fabricating mild steel, stainless steel and structural steel components, and performing MIG welding. The role also involves making tanks, vessels, and structural components while maintaining high-quality standards and accurate work records.

Job Details:

• Pay: Up to £18.50 per hour (Negotiable depending on experience)
• Hours of Work: 7am-4:30pm Monday to Thursday, 7am-12:00 Friday
• Duration: Temp to Perm
• Overtime Rules: x1.5 in the week and on Saturday, x2 on Sunday

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Fabrication of steel components
• Working from engineering/technical drawings
• MIG & TIG welding
• Experience working with mild steel, stainless and structural steel
• Experience making tanks and vessels

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Working with carbon & stainless pipework
• Pipefitting & pipe welding experience
• TIG welding
• Previous experience working as a coded welder

Desired Qualifications:

• NVQ/C&G in Fabrication and Welding or equivalent
• Driving Licence
• Coded in MIG welding
• Coded in TIG welding
• CSCS/CCNSG Card

Job Details:

• Pay: £16.86 – £21.92 per hour (PAYE) (Rates vary depending on project site, overtime available - ECSA & NAECI Rates)
• Hours of Work:
  • Core Hours 38 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 8:00am–4:30pm, Friday 8:00am–2:00pm (hours will vary depending on site requirements)
• Duration: Permanent
• Benefits: Stakeholder pension (up to 6% employer contribution), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Welplan medical insurance

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

• Proven experience of engineering site work in an industrial environment working with Fabricator Welders / Pipefitters and similar trades
• Excellent experience using hand and power tools
• Good knowledge of site health & safety requirements
• Strong mechanical engineering or site fitting and maintenance background
• Experienced working in power stations / petrochemical sites / refineries and similar sites  
• Valid CCNSG, ACE Card, CSCS, or equivalent site safety card
• Full UK driving licence

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• C&G or NVQ in a mechanical or engineering discipline

• Basic pay rates and overtime vary, with some projects operating under NAECI or ECSA agreements
• Some sites require DBS checks and extensive background screening due to high security levels
• Some work will be based at the client’s workshop in St Helens, so the ability to commute is essential
• The role involves extended overnight stays and working across the UK
