Job Role: As a Machine Operative, you will contribute to the quality and technical standards of the production team, ensuring the manufacture of high-quality cheese products in a reliable and cost-effective manner. The Machine Operative will operate production equipment, run packing lines using production IT systems, carry out simple maintenance tasks, maintain strict food hygiene and health and safety standards, monitor equipment performance, and report any issues before they become problems.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment
  • Machine operating experience
  • Ability to work a rotating day and night shift pattern

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • Previous food production or food manufacturing experience.

For the successful Machine Operative, our client is offering:

  • Salary £25,365
  • Overtime available (paid at double/time) £27.10 P/H
  • 12-hour shifts, including Days and Nights - 36 hours per week
  • Week 1 & 2 - Thursday, Friday, Saturday (Days) 6AM to 6PM
  • Week 3 & 4 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (Nights) 6PM to 6AM
  • Week 5 & 6 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (Days) 6AM to 6PM
  • Week 7 & 8 - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (Nights) 6PM to 6AM

The Role – Production Operative

  • Setting and operating Production machines in accordance with the production plan
  • Quality checking of products at various stages of the process
  • Work closely with other departments throughout the production process when required
  • Adhere to stringent Health and safety rules and regulations

What our client is looking for in a Production operative;

  • Experience of working in the manufacturing industry 
  • Demonstrate stability in work history
  • You must be happy to do manual handball work
  • Experience within a high-volume environment is essential, preferably with experience of automated processes.
  • Experience of working as part of a team and a flexible approach to work is essential, including the ability to work the required shift pattern in line with the business needs.
