For the successful Production Operative, our client is offering;

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Monday to Thursday, 06.00 - 4.00 PM, 06.00 - 2.00 PM Friday's

The Role of the Production Operative

  • Production Line duties
  • Quality control checks (First on & last off) 
  • Packing and unpacking produce
  • Manual handling
  • Working to a strict clean-as-you-go policy

Job Role: As a Production Operative, you will be responsible for the coating of lenses within a busy manufacturing environment. Job Details:

  • Pay: £43,950 - £48,200 per annum
  • Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday, 6:00pm to 6:00am, following successful completion of the training programme
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Benefits: 28 days’ annual leave
Job Role: As a Production Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day management of a manufacturing team while remaining hands-on with CNC machinery when required. The Production Team Leader will coordinate labour, prioritise workloads and monitor production targets while maintaining high standards of quality, health and safety, housekeeping and 6S. You will manage team discipline in line with company policies, identify training requirements, complete shift handovers and work closely with Shift Leaders and other key stakeholders. The role also involves reporting machine breakdowns and damage, supporting tooling, machine and product trials, and investigating non-conforming components.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Experienced CNC Operator - ESSENTIAL
  • Previous supervisory, team-leading or trainee leadership experience
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Understanding of quality procedures, first-off component checks and production documentation
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work towards daily and weekly production targets

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Experience coordinating labour, overtime, holiday and sickness cover
  • Knowledge of housekeeping, health and safety and 6S principles
Additional Information
  • The successful candidate will be expected to go through a training programme, lasting approx. 3 weeks paid at £17.62 per hour. Upon successful completion of the training, the hourly rate will increase to £19.32
  • Training will take place Monday  - Friday - 6am - 3pm
  • Post Training, the permanent night shift is Monday to Thursday, 6:00pm to 6:00am
