Recruit4staff are proud to be representing their client, a well-known manufacturer in their search for a Quality Inspector to work in their leading facility in Much Wenlock.

For the successful Quality Inspector our client is offering:

  • Pay Rate £15.38 DOE
  • 08.30-16.30 or 09.00-17.00 Monday to Friday 
  • Temporary position, initially but could turn into full time role for the right person 
  • Free parking
  • Profit share bonus - once full time

The role - Quality Inspector: 

  • Initial testing of materials as they come off the production line according to strict methodologies
  • Recording results and comparing to target figures
  • Quarantining and investigating issues on out-of-spec products & problem solving
  • Compiling weekly reports on key measures
  • Analysing and setting target figures for product tolerances
  • Record keeping for raw materials and H&S information on goods-in
  • Assisting with external & internal audits
  • Secondary role in R&D helping with formulation work and certification of products
  • Preparing test specimens and samples
  • Calibrating and cleaning lab machinery and equipment

What our client is looking for in a Quality Inspector:

  • Must have experience in mortar, powders, liquids or concrete- ESSENTIAL
  • Proven experience in lab or site testing - ESSENTIAL 
  • Must have good record keeping skills
  • Must be PC literate and familiar with Excel
  • Must be happy with heavy lifting 
  • Must be happy to work in a dusty environment
  • Due to the location of the site you MUST have transport or live locally.

For the successful Machine Operator our client is offering;

  • Starting salary of £33,733 which rises as experience/competence are signed off, if you can run all processes it can rise to £43,487 (For most this usually takes around 12 months but can be achieved sooner)
  • 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts rotating days and nights, 07:25 - 19:35/19:35 - 07:25
  • Permanent role

As a Machine Operator your responsibilities will be:

  • Stay hands-on with the machinery— spotting potential faults, investigating issues and problem solving to prevent downtime.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with Food Safety, Quality, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Running the line to standard operating procedures, which include start- up and changeovers.
  • Leading a line with machine operators, training and driving performance.
  • Liaising with development teams for improvements on standards to drive continuous improvement, supporting refining processes to boost productivity.
  • Taking ownership of the production line’s performance, ensuring it runs efficiently and is complete control.
What our client is looking for in a Machine Operator: 
  • An individual with a strong technical mindset, who enjoys working with, setting and operating machinery- ESSENTIAL 
  • First line machine maintenance experience - ESSENTAL
  • Technically competent to solve problems, taking action to ensure delivery, gaining support to ensure delivery
  • Experience with changeovers/ basic machine maintenance- ESSENTIAL 
  • Someone excited by learning new techniques & technology, with a drive for continuous improvements and lean manufacturing.
  • An effective communicator who listens and gives clear instructions, someone who isn’t afraid of challenge, gaining support when from experts when needed.
  • Ideally experienced within the food or processing industry – although not essential
  • Must be happy/available to attend a numerical and verbal reasoning test- ESSENTIAL
