For the successful Maintenance Engineer our client is offering;

  1. Permanent position
  2. 4 on 4 off day shifts
  3. Starting salary between £33,800 - £35,300 per annum (D.O.E)

The Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer;

  1. Investigate faults and work with electrical and mechanical systems (such as Siemens S7)
  2. Carry out planned preventative maintenance and root-cause analysis for fault-finding on machinery
  3. Attend and diagnose machine breakdowns, including mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatics failures in an efficient manner
  4. Utilise a range of tools and engineering techniques to repair and maintain machinery to operational standards
  5. Ensure all maintenance issues are logged into the relevant systems accurately and promptly
  6. Maintain high levels of compliance with health and safety standards whilst performing duties
  7. Play a pivotal role in maintenance engineering projects and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  8. Regularly liaise with maintenance, production and quality departments regarding maintenance issues
  9. Service and maintain various other plant equipment, examples being: water heaters, pumps, etc.
  10. Adhere to planned maintenance schedules and effectively manage machine breakdowns

What our client is looking for in an Electrical Maintenance Engineer;

  1. Must have previous fault-finding experience, ideally relating to Siemens PLC run machinery
  2. Must hold a qualification in Electrical Engineering (such as City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3, and 17th or 18th Edition)
  3. The ability to design and manufacture basic electrical control panels
  4. Good understanding of PLC systems, and the ability to use associated tools for interrogation of the software
  5. An in-depth understanding of mechanical systems
  6. Ability to understand engineering and electrical drawings
  7. Competent in Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, and Project
  8. Knowledge of working with AC & DC CCT’s, single & 3 phase systems and inverter drives

  • Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role- ESSENTIAL
  • 17th or 18th Edition Electrical Installation qualification- ESSENTIAL 
  • BTEC or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering- ESSENTIAL 
  • Multi-skilled in both Mechanical (25%) and Electrical (75%) disciplines- ESSENTIAL 
  • Excellent problem-solving, fault finding and diagnostic skills- ESSENTIAL 
  • Proactive and responsible attitude.
