Recruit4staff are representing an established food manufacturing business in their search for a Night Hygiene Operative to work in Wrexham

Job Details:

  • Pay: £14.49 per hour
  • Hours of Work: Shift 1 – Monday 18:00–06:00, Tuesday to Friday 22:30–06:00. Shift 2 – Tuesday to Friday 22:30–06:00 and Saturday 18:00–06:00
  • Duration: Temporary to Permanent (12-week temporary period)
Job Role: As a Night Hygiene Operative, you will be responsible for thoroughly cleaning production machinery, equipment and factory areas to maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards. The role includes strip-downs, deep cleaning, disassembly and reassembly of machinery, safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and working in accordance with Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs). The Night Hygiene Operative will ensure cleaning activities comply with customer specifications, food standards legislation, COSHH requirements and site health and safety procedures while helping minimise waste, costs and disruption to production.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a hygiene role; previous Night Hygiene Operative or industrial cleaning experience would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe use
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative
  • Understanding of Health and Safety, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and hygiene requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to work safely at height
  • Literate and numerate with the ability to complete records accurately
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider team
  • The successful Night Hygiene Operative must be comfortable following PPE requirements and safe systems of work at all times

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • COSHH training or certification
  • Health & Safety at Work qualification or training
  • Level 2 Food Safety / Food Hygiene Certificate
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • Previous training relevant to a Night Hygiene Operative within a food production or manufacturing environment
