Recruit4staff are proud to be representing their client, a leading manufacturer in their search for a Environmental, Sustainability & Energy Specialist  to work in their leading facility in Bridgnorth.

For the successful Environmental, Sustainability & Energy Specialist our client is offering:

  • Competitive annual salary of up to £43,000 Depending on experience / qualifications
  • Working Day shifts - 8am-5pm with a 2pm finish on Fridays

The role - Environmental, Sustainability & Energy Specialist:

  • Undertaking assessments to ascertain the organization's sustainability performance.
  • Monitoring and evaluating progress, collecting feedback from colleagues, and refreshing policies to ensure the company remains on track for its economic and sustainability goals
  • Liaising with different stakeholders from senior management to the general public.
  • Designing and coordinating training sessions to update employees on new procedures and practices.
  • Researching the latest technologies to help cut or reduce carbon emissions.
  • Finding suitable offsetting solutions that align with company values.
  • Establishing relationships with media outlets to promote corporate social responsibility projects and handle any PR issues.
  • Preparing and issuing the annual ESG report, monitoring and supporting with actions plans related to the companies ESG strategy.
  • Plans, organises, coordinates and directs the utility management program. Develops and implements short and long-range utility management goals and objectives.
  • Recommends policies and procedures for effective, efficient, and economical operations.
  • Develops utility management measures related to electric and gas usage related to processes and facilities consumption.
  • Studies and analyses utilisation of utilities and conducts energy audits at processes and ancillary facility.
  • Maintains utility consumption records and computerised database for energy users.
  • Compiles, reviews, and analyses utility data. Prepares reports relating to utility management operations and program performance.
  • Collaborates with the Maintenance and Operations for implementing measures to reduce utility usage and improve efficiency.
  • Provides staff training and makes regular inspection of facilities for implementation of utility management measures.
  • Supports the negotiation of the purchase of electricity, natural gas and alternative fuels.
  • Identifies opportunities for collaboration with other agencies and community partners to support and deliver various funded projects related to energy reduction or efficiency
  • Ensure that the environmental management system is maintained with a drive to continually
    improve the system.
  • Support with training and awareness for all partners with regards environmental practices and environmental management.
  • Ensure compliance with LAPPC Permit and collate necessary information for submissions.
  • Complete audits and checks of critical environmental controls across the site.
  • Conduct aspects and impacts assessments for current and new plant/processes.
  • Ensure the business complies with current environmental legislation, approved codes of
    practice and guidance.

What our client is looking for in a Environmental, Sustainability & Energy Specialist:

  • Our client is looking for candidates who have either of the following:
  • Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) Foundation Certificate in
  • Environmental Management or higher
  • Or NEBOSH certificate in environmental management
  • Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA)
  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in environmental science, environmental studies or environmental sustainability desired but not required
  • ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor Training
