Recruit4staff are proud to be presenting their client, a leading food-based manufacturer in their search for a Production Operative to work in their modern facility in Bridgnorth.

For the successful Production Operative, our client is offering:
  • Competitive rate of £13.32 per hour, with Overtime paid at £19.98 per hour.
  • Temporary - Permanent opportunity for the right candidate!
  • Full time hours (40 hour week)
  • Rotating shift pattern: 07:00am - 15:00pm / 12:00pm - 20:00pm
  • Additional courses available including First Aid, telehandler and FLT licences (if you don’t already have one) and other suitable courses.
  • Quarterly bonus after 6 months
  • Yearly bonus - Once permanent
  • Additional Holidays accrued yearly from 28 days per annum to 33
  • Company Pension

The role: Production Operative:
  • Reporting to the Team Leader as you will be responsible for assisting in all production tasks
  • Flexibility assistant the process operating team on the main production line, as and when required
  • Manual Handling
  • Unpacking food from outer packaging in a timely and efficient manner
What our client is looking for in a Production Operative:
  • Minimum of 1 years experience in a fast paced and/or food based production facility. ESSENTIAL
  • FLT Licence DESIRABLE
  • Able to work from using own initiative
  • Methodical approach to work
  • Physically fit
  • Good organisation skills

The Role - Team Leader:

  • Lead and coach a team of production staff, providing guidance and training in all aspects of production including maintaining and updating skills matrix.
  • Escalate production issues and conformance to schedule concerns to shift manager 
  • Working closely internally with other departments
  • Ensuring products manufactured are meeting the company guidelines
  • Maintain appropriate housekeeping standards within the production area.
  • Monitor production schedules and maintain partner resource planning through managing attendance and holiday scheduling including redeployments during shifts.
  • Ensure all workers are sufficiently competent to undertake duties assigned to them.
  • Complete orientation for new starters and agency workers and complete probationary reviews.
  • Assist in answering general employment/pay queries including encouraging self-service for holiday and payroll queries
  • Act as point of contact for absence call-ins and complete daily Time Management System administration to accurately record employee attendance and timekeeping.
  • Monitor absence to track staff attendance and manage implementation of the attendance policy process including holding attendance review meetings.
  • Complete return to work interviews and escalate any requests for reasonable adjustments or concerns requiring occupational health advice.
  • Identify areas for improvement in production processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and encourage team members to participate in improvement programmes.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to mitigate risk to production and/or supply
  • IT Literate
  • Holds Managing Safely IOSH Level 1 certificate - Advantageous
  • Manual Handling and Crane trainer - Advantageous
  • Basic First Aid trained - Advantageous
  • Fire Marshall trained - Advantageous
