For the successful Manual Machinist, our client is offering:

• Up to £34,580 per year (depending on experience)
• Monday to Friday, 8 am till 4:30 pm, 2:30 pm finish on Friday
• Permanent position
• Training and development provided
• On-site showers & canteen
• 23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
• Overtime Available 

The role - Manual Machinist :

• Setting and operating a manual lathe turner
• Tool changing
• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Working with Dean Smith & Grace, Colchester Mastiff, Ajax Lathes
• Making bespoke and small-batch orders
• Working to tight tolerances 

What our client is looking for in a Manual Machinist

• HNC/NVQ/City and Guilds in Engineering or equivalent BENEFICIAL
• Previous experience in a similar role ESSENTIAL
• Must be fully trained in the use of manual lathe turners ESSENTIAL 
• Must be able to operate manual machines ESSENTIAL
• Previous experience with Herco, Dean Smith & Grace BENEFICIAL

Recruit4staff are representing a well-established precision engineering company in their search for a Manual Machinist to work in Prescot

Job Role: Setting and operating a manual centre lathe to produce bespoke one-off components. Working from engineering drawings and to tight tolerances, the role involves tool changes and the manufacture, re-engineering or repair of precision parts. The Manual Machinist will be expected to contribute to a range of mechanical tasks in a busy workshop environment.

Job Details:

• Pay: £15.21 per hour - £17.49 per hour
• Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, with an early finish on Fridays
• Duration: Permanent
• Benefits:
• Performance & attendance related bonus
• NEST pension
• 23 days holiday + Bank Holidays
• Emergency paid leave days (up to 8 per year)
• Enhanced overtime rates of x1.5 & x2

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Setting and operating manual turning machines
• Working from drawings
• Proven track record of bespoke one-off work

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Manual milling experience
• Mechanical fitting and maintenance experience

Essential Qualifications:

• C&G/NVQ in mechanical engineering or equivalent

Desired Qualifications:

• Driving licence
