Job Details:

  • Pay: Up to £52,000 per annum + Annual Company Bonus
  • Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, Days (Flexibility required to support projects and business needs)
  • Duration: Permanent

Job Role: The Utilities Engineer will play a key role in driving energy and water reduction targets across site. The Utilities Engineer will work closely with the Compliance Manager to improve facilities infrastructure, develop robust procedures, and enhance utilities maintenance through safer working methods and hazard elimination. As a Utilities Engineer, you will analyse energy and water usage data, lead improvement initiatives, and collaborate with Group functions including Process Improvement, OPEX and Projects teams to deliver both minor and major Capex projects. You will also support and coach the wider team, acting on behalf of the Compliance Manager when required. This Utilities Engineer position offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact on site sustainability and operational efficiency.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

  • Proven hands-on experience with utility equipment including Steam Generation, Air Compressors, Electricity Generation, Water, Effluent and Ammonia Refrigeration
  • Strong understanding of site services/utilities within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience analysing energy and water usage data
  • Experience delivering engineering projects (Capex)
  • Apprenticeship in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled) OR HNC / HND in Engineering

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering
  • BOAS qualification
  • Ammonia refrigeration certification
  • IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Energy management qualification (e.g., ISO 50001 knowledge)
