Recruit4Staff are proud to represent their client, an internationally renowned construction & civil engineering company in their search for a Design Manager to work on their newly awarded contract in the Penrhyndeudraeth area

For the successful Design Manager our client is offering:

  • Salary: 70,000 - 80,000 (Negotiable depending on experience & skillset)
  • Days role
  • Permanent role
  • Company car or car allowance
  • Pension with up to 8% contribution from the client
  • 25 days holiday + Bank holidays

The Role - Design Manager

  • To manage design consultant activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed program
  • To be the technical lead on the project unless an Engineering Manager is present.
  • Manage the process, resolution, and communication of all design queries as part of the project.
  • Produce monthly reports on design progress and any other design-specific elements
  • Manage and chair all design interface meetings with external parties.
  • Review all design deliverables and ensure that they are completed to the expected standard. Challenge and resolve when not
  • Work closely with the Construction team and lead the CDM designer hazard review process.
  • Respond to and manage site queries and field changes.
  • Ensure that the requirements of the Design Management Plan (DMP) the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and Client requirements are achieved by all specialist design subcontractors and the main Designer.
  • Develop & compile documentation for inclusion within the contractor’s proposals or scope deviations.
  • Assist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns.
  • Provide construction-conscious direction and instruction to the Architectural & MEP Design team during the different RIBA stages.

What our client is looking for in a Design Manager

  • Tier 1 Main Contract Design management experience delivering building projects - ESSENTIAL 
  • Proven experience on large building projects including attention to architectural detail
  • Previous National Grid experience DESIRABLE
  • High voltage experience - DESIRABLE
  • Must be happy to be based on site full-time

The Role - Senior Design Manager

  • Reporting directly to the Project Director, overseeing Design, Temporary Works, and Quality functions 
  • Effective team management and reporting
