Fabricator Welder

Recruit4staff is proud to be representing their client, a leading Engineering company in their search for an experienced Fabricator Welder to work from their Knowsley based workshop and attend sites across the North West area

For the successful Fabricator Welder, our client is offering:

£22 per hour (CIS/LTD)
Core Hours: Mon-Fri 8am - 4:30pm
Overtime paid at enhanced rates
Ongoing temporary contract

The Role: Fabricator Welder

Working in a workshop & on various sites in the North West
Fabricating a range of different products from start to finish
Pipe fabrication and welding
TIG and MIG welding on ferrous and non-ferrous metals
Working from engineering drawings to plan and execute pipefitting tasks for both mechanical and electrical projects.
Working with hygiene pipe.
Ensure accurate assembly and installation of pipes, valves, fittings, and related equipment
Conduct regular quality checks.
Measure, cut, thread, and weld pipes and tubing to specifications.
Maintain detailed records of work.

What our client is looking for in a Fabricator Welder

City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in Welding and Fabrication BENEFICIAL
Pipefitting experience - ESSENTIAL
Pipe fabrication experience ESSENTIAL
Experience with TIG welding ESSENTIAL
Ability to interpret complex drawings - ESSENTIAL
Hygiene Pipe Welding Experience - BENEFICIAL
Strong knowledge of various pipe materials, fittings, and joining methods.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Coded or previously coded - BENEFICIAL
Driving Licence and access to a car - ESSENTIAL
CCNSG Safety Passport - BENEFICAL

For the successful Fabricator Welder (Heavy Gauge) our client is offering:

Hourly rate of £17.12 per hour (PAYE)
Basic Salary of £35,609 per annum
Overtime paid at x1.5 (£25.68) & x2 (£34.24)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm
Overtime available afterhours and on weekends

The role - Fabricator Welder (Heavy Gauge)

Fabricating structural components.
Plate perpetration, using different methods (Oxy – fuel gas cutting & Hand Grinding), pressure testing, drilling & lock fitting)
Fit, fair and tack weld steelwork
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Operating various tools and machinery.
Assembling the parts into a structure, usually by welding it, but sometimes using bolts and rivets
Finishing off the assembly, using tools like grinders and polishers to smooth the surface
Ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Following health and safety protocols

What our client is looking for in a Fabricator Welder (Heavy Gauge) :

City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in fabrication or welding / Plating
Proven expertise in fabrication and welding. ESSENTIAL
Proven experience in the Marine / Nuclear / Steel fabrication / Off-shore / Petro-chemical or Construction industries - ESSENTIAL
Previous experience with Heavy Gauge Fabrication/ Plating work - ESSENTIAL
Significant experience in structural steel fabrication - BENEFICIAL
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

What our client is offering for the successful Site Welder:

Basic Pay Rate: Up to £20 per hour (Depending on experience)

C&G/NVQ in Welding - BENEFICIAL
Previously coded in MMA or MIG Welding - BENEFICIAL
Previous experience in a similar role
Previous experience of site welding - ESSENTIAL
Proven experience of MMA and MIG - ESSENTIAL
Full drivers licence - ESSENTIAL
CSCS Card - BENEFICIAL
NPORS Tickets - BENEFICIAL
MPQC - BENEFICIAL
SPA Passport - BENEFICIAL
Willingness to work across the UK, with overnight stays as required
